true story?

is this story true? were we actually playing some random guys games? or was this all a elaberate creation to tell a beautiful fictional story?

Well technically it isn't. Coda does not actually exist and the games were made to tell a story but while the actual story is fictional the base of it isnt. The story is based around Davie's depression after the Stanley Parable got such high praise. The high Praise changed the way he thought about the game and made him forget the reason he made it which was for fun. But all the notice and praise made him feel the need for validation as mentioned in the game and notice that we play from Davie's point of view while Coda represents Davie when he made the stanley parable first off. He made this weird little game that he got a lot of enjoyment out of and it was fun but WE the fan based noticed it and nominated it for game of the year which turned Davie's fun into a chore for validation. Everyone was wanting more and giving it attention he felt pressured to make more games ruining the whole thing and taking the fun out of it.
