Coda's True Story (Spoken by a Friend)
As a close friend of Davey and a neighbor, Davey is Coda. I have great fears for him, and how he is coping with a recent tragedy. As some of you all have figured out, Coda is an alternate ego of Davey. Ever since March 12 of 2015 Davey has been neglecting his friends and has been secluded. What happened on that day that changed Davey so much? It's simple.
On March 12, Davey was coming home late from a friends house and hit his dog Rover. He died over the night in agonyand since then Davey has been emotionally destraught. These games he has made he has made in the past few years as a way to get over his feelings. Since 2010 he has made one of these unending games with either a moral or an unspoken purpose. When he is in his feelings for say, he does not answer the phone and will spend hours at a time making these games. He said the first time he had ever met Coda was at a Game Jam. One of the first Game Jams he had ever gone to every idea Davey brought up was cast out. He was ignored and essentially bullied by a bunch of wanna be nerds. That's when he really realized who Coda was. This seperate Davey.
It wasn't until Stanley Parable was realeased in October of 2013 that Coda really began to hit Stanley. He began to think into these games. After he would make one he would go back and think about the game he had made. Coda began to hit him less and less. It went from 5 months between games to 6. Then to 7. After the Tower came out, it seemed like Coda was gone forever.
Until March 12. After he killed Rover he began to contemplate, well, everything. He showed people the games he had made. He didn't even know what he was making. His own works were foreign and he needed other people's positive critique. Then, Coda came back. It was like he was a seperate person and he hated himself for letting people play his games. It was his deeped inward self. He could not control Coda and he came whenever he wanted. He made this game so maybe the next time a tradegy struck he would be able to talk himself out of hating himself.
What about the maze at the end of the story. He made that epilogue and the maze because to him he has no idea what is happening. He is finding himself thorugh making this game. I have known Dav for twelve years and he has never been the same. The maze symbolizes how small he is compared to this confusion inside of him. He said "If I could have connected with him I would be happy." He said he needed to be "Someone other than me. But he left." Davey was trying to find this alternate him through this maze. He needed to find Coda to make another game to get over his dead dog, the new tragedy. But he couldn't.
Davey then released the game. Hopeing maybe one day, Davey would be "Coda" after a tragedy and it could make Coda make a game to help confort Davey. Coda is not Davey during tradegy. Coda is Davey exiting tragedy and without him....Davey is lost. The three dots and three everything stand for Davey, Coda, and whatever tragedy Davey is going through.
Even the name Coda is metaphorical. Coda is the end of whatever Davs is going through. Wether it is losing a loved one, stress, or painfully killing his dog, Coda is the end. Coda in music is the ending piece. I am asking for your prayers to help Davey find his Coda. Together we can join together through mail and emails to help encourage Davey to fight his depression. He needs to realize he does not need Coda. He needs to know he has us... Friends and Family to get away from Rover.

RIP Rover

And Davey. If you see this. I want you to know three words:
I love you.

Yeah, um, if you can't spell Davey's name right, then I don't think you know him at all, much less 12 whole years.

I did spell Davey correctly. Nonbelievers like you make Rover die for nothing...

I'm sorry but trolling about depression and suicide isn't OK.

I understand that you want to put some weight behind your conclusions with these claims, but depression and suicide are serious topics.

Btw. if you want to understand the game, just go through it multiple times. It will click eventually.
