Playing without narration? (Coda mode)
I just started playing the game without narration (can be changed in the options) and from what I see, the narrator's interventions on the game world are also absent.

For example :
- You have to do the maze yourself on the spaceship.
- The death in the blue electric beam immediately makes you float outside.
- The walls don't get hidden by the narrator after the first puzzle door.

I'm guessing there is more to this way of playing the levels (as Coda intended?) so if you see anything different from the "standard" playthrough, let us know.

At the moment I'm waiting for the prison door to open so I can enter my cell (and wait for 1 hour inside). But it doesn't open to let me in. Anyone have the same problem?

The door not opening happened to me, seems to be a bug, it should open as soon as the elevator gets there.

That's an awesome detail. I don't have it in me to actually play it that way (sitting for an hour? No thank you!), but I love that it's there.

I like it, and I hope to find more differences in the future. Maybe there's a way to play a walkthrough in a "legit" way, that Coda intended? And maybe there are less subtle differences the more you move forward in the games.

Yeah, I tried it on a different computer. Same result. I'll skip to the next levels and try to play them in Coda mode.

Staying in the cell does work, after I got the bug I restarted the level, the cell door opened properly, stood inside for an hour and then it opened, but there seems to be a bug that won't let the cell open. I think mine was because I was jumping around the elevator trying to get off.

You're going to have a lot of fun when you get to the last level XD
Can you let me know if there are any lamp-posts?

That was my hypothesis too. But from what I see there are lampposts even in Coda Mode.

Prehaps coda did not mean that literally and instead meant "stop adding meanings to the game like you do to the lampposts"

What Davey talked about when the first lamppost appeared and assigned some meaning to it that did not really exist

Coda is not a real person

This has nothing to do with what we are discussing

I know this isn't a particularly useful comment, but I'm delighted that you pointed out the impact of turning off narration.
