DS al Coda
In the soundtrack, the second to last track is titled "D.S. al Coda," which is a musical instruction to go back to the sign. The sign used in music happens to be the same icon used by the game when it runs on the taskbar.

It's the lamp post.

Segno != coda.
Read up on it some more.

I know that a coda and a segno are different. The symbol used by the game is a coda

Then I may have misunderstood your post, since you mentioned "going back to the sign" (segno) and then immediately used the word "sign" for coda. Apologies.

I've just seen people mention segno a lot more for reasons I don't quite understand, and coda being the ending is rarely addressed.

I probably should have been more specific what I meant by "sign." I think the sign is the lampost. His "reference point"
