no idea why this demo even HAS a timer if its just 3 floors...
I beat the drake with the starting sword at level 2. I ran around a lot. There's plenty of healing spots to use.
The timer doesn't make much sense to me either since you can't go past floor 3. But probably because so much is unfinished still is my guess...
Which makes less sense since this isn't a from-the-ground-up remake.
No advanced tooltips on anything, like skills. In fate the cursed king, mousing over the critical strike skill shows you the % chance to critically strike if you have points in the skill. Not the case in this game.
Theres no quicksell/buy hotkeys in the store ui. You literally can't sell items to a shop unless the vendor window has enough empty space to house the item you are dragging into its interface.
With a 12min timer, I did not even have the time to see if fishing was in the demo or how they implented it.
The barebones HP bars above enemies character models are pointless when you also have a giant hp bar for them at the top of the screen.
There were absolutely 0 graphics settings for us to change in the demo, not even screen resolution. This is a monumental step backwards in every sense. Computers are as varied as human beings, for there be to no options whatsoever even in a demo is just trash tier developer laziness.
Fountains of wellness in the base game restore hp/mana/stamina. I never used mana so i can't tell you if they restore mana, but they don't restore stamina in this.
Theres no hotkey to change the minimap size, type, or orientation. The original series atleast let you change the zoom levels of the minimap.
This demo speaks very loudly about how much of a quick, cheap, and lazy asset flip Gamigo is trying to use to make a quick buck of a beloved old game series. Not giving a ♥♥♥♥ about quality of the product and not a hint of pride in their work.
I agree with most of your criticism but minimap zoom is in. Just press 'M' repeatedly to go through the three (IIRC) zoom levels.
I ask because that will probably be revealing as to how the game is packaged. Meaning if its only the same equip slots from Fate and not F:CK then we won't have a single long playthrough. Like you boot up the game and choose which game you are playing between the original fate stories. They advertised the game as all 4 fate games in one.
I was hoping it would be shipped as one seamless, long campaign through the different games stories in order of their release. After seeing how low effort this port to the new engine is, I assume its just gonna be a deal where you select which "game" you are playing at the main menu. Similar to say .HACK//G.U. Recode which was a pc port of an old 3 game ps2 series.
We have a community Discord here with an active demo channel: https://discord.gg/WHQzmQpgT4
Gods, I f'ing hate the stamina system. This is one of those things that got implemented just cause Diablo 2 had it, even though even the devs from Diablo 2 admitted they never quite figured out the system before putting it in the game, and it kinda just shipped with it anyway.
