The game is a visual novel with 3 romances: one straight (John) and two lesbian (Marie and Lora).

The game is the first of a trilogy, though they can be played independently. Is a 6 years old game, so that is reflected in the low price compared to my others.

Apropos: the version here on Steam (at least for Linux) seems to be different than the Linux version on Desura. For example, this version here shows relationship points, while the Desura version didn't. And I wasn't able to get the Marie ending in the Desura version either, despite trying like mad. Could you check what's up with that and update the Desura version(s), please?

Right, the Steam says "Full version game" under the title and "Version 1.1.2" in the lower left corner. The version on Desura, both Windows and Linux, don't. Which, I guess means that those are still old version (1.1?).

Being a fan of alternative download options, I'd very much appreciate if you could update Heileen on Desura, if that's possible. :)

That is a fair observation kalirion; Lora's ending carries some lesbian overtones, while Marie's definitely feels more like friendship. I am a bit more forgiving of it since this is one of Winter Wolve's first Visual Novels/Games...and they defintiely got better for writing for later games/sequels to make it more clear. Heileen 3 for example (which should be out in a few weeks on Steam).

My main critique of this game though is that, at least in the 2 playthroughs I did, it didn't seem like the "relationship bar" had any impact at all on dialog or events - all it seemed to do was switch up the ending.

I have uploaded the new version in beta branch, with achievements that should unlock also on Linux (I tried on Ubuntu 12.04 and they worked). Let me know if you try and they work :)
