Wave 50+

My deepest run is wave 45 on ascension 4. I just passed ascension 8 but usually dies around wave 37 ish. I can see that on the leader-board people can rack up millions dps on a single tower. I wonder how? There must be something that I am missing.

Really depends on what they are playing, the easiest way to put out great numbers is probably the mixture between runestone towers + raven towers, you will stack the runic fire aura to 50% and place 5 towers next to a bunch of ravens, they will then profit from a 250% fire rate buff and become big killers.
