What is best for long run?

Hello,
So I reached a good wave on confort mode (i'm 16th wtf?! does nobody play this mode?) and i wanted to know what is the strat for a good run in normal.
I've seen the leaderboard and the banners for the crow tower and it seams like best potential but I can't get my hands on a decent start.
Can someone enlighten me?

From leaderboards on the various ascensions it tends to be runestone, raven, and arc. I tend to start runestone and arc since wood is really important for late game economy.

Just depends on how long you trying to make your run, you can push 38 to 40 pretty well without ever building more than 1 tower

How do you do this? The furthest i've gotten is around 25.

by focusing on one tower type you often have the luxury that you can farm the unique banner really fast for it. Runestones are pretty good for solo-tower-type plays. Aswell arrows work here very good too

I somehow got to round 28 with only building lightning towers. I got super lucky. I didn't had unlocked everything, but now I fail at round 10 with alot of more unlocked stuff. I feel like I building way too much instead of building more towers.

Yea this can happen fairly quick if you focus too much on the economy. Thats where the point comes in with managing the economy as perfect you can, with as little tower beeing build for that exact moment to snowball even crazier in later stages :)

So, dont invest all in to the Village, you gotta need a little defense still :D!
