Metal Dead: Encore is NOT cancelled!

I've seen a few posts around the internet saying the Metal Dead sequel is cancelled as it was originally planed for release a few years back and that following a few delays there's been no news for a long time. I've seen some people say it's been officially cancelled so I decided to message the devs direct to see if this is officially dead or not. For anyone else still waiting like me - Metal Dead: Encore is NOT cancelled!.

Sounds like there's been a number of set backs, which is common on indie games, and the devs just don't want to keep promising dates for something extra/unseen to pop up and delay it yet again, so that's the reason for the lack of updates/dates. Sounds like they are still very committed to releasing though!

Keep the faith Metal Dead fans!

Honestly, I would appreciate some sort of public word from the devs. It doesn't even need to be a major announcement, it could be as simple as, say, not having your last post on twitter be from three years ago.

Unfortunately looking like you could be right given all the time that's passed now and with no further update since 2020. Real shame though as I loved the first game and I really wanted this to show up one day! I hope one day we'll be proved wrong or at least hear from the devs on what happened and why it never got released.

A sad discovery, since Metal Dead is an amazing game that we all love. I’d love to hear from the developers about what happened or whether they’ve decided to pursue a different project. It would be a shame if such great talent didn't leave more lasting marks on the history of great video games!
