Known Issue: Freezing Cutscene in York - UPDATE: HOTFIX Deployed
Hey all,

we are aware that some of you are encountering an issue with the York level and a freezing cutscene. We are currently investigating this issue and looking into a fix that will resolve this issue for you.


Update 2 - 1:30pm CEST

We have just deployed a hotfix regarding this issue. We ask that affected users allow Steam to download this fix and then try to play the sequence again.


Update 1:

We would also ask affected users if this freeze creates a Minidump file that they could share with us- per default, it would be located here:

[win_drive]:\windows\minidumps\*.dmp

Please use the file whose timestamp corresponds with the freeze in Ryse.

If you are affected by this issue, we would ask you to help in this investigation by doing the following:

Go to: http://onlinemd5.com/
Browse for the file "Videos-part3.pak" in your Ryse folder. The default path should be:

\Steam\SteamApps\common\Ryse Son of Rome\GameRyse\Videos-part3.pak

Please post the MD5 Hash checksum that you generate for this file here in this thread.

what about others... im stuck on stupid trail by fire jump off boat flamin rock lands barbarian attacks the two romans i goto attack him game instantly crashes..... i'll give it a week then i guess i'll seek a refund no point havin a game if it dosen't work

Hi Eroticus, Its a good work around to remove the "Videos-part3.pak" from the content folder. For the first time it works fine, thx.

well this update had no effect for me still crashing on trail by fire mission after u jump off boat.................... just want 2 play the game fs will try restarting hole chapter... ok have restarted chapter got back up to where i was and still crashed again after jumping off boat.... is this gunna be fixed? so just feels like a waste of money
