Problem: Texture Resolution is grayed out can't be changed in the menu.

Workaround:add sys_spec_TextureResolution = 1,2,3 or 4 to system.cfg in the root game directory. Make sure you don’t overcommit when overriding the setting as otherwise the performance will suffer severely. Please find below the safe memory thresholds (dedicated video memory) for auto detected texture resolution:

2.8 GB = Very High
1.9 GB = High
1.45 GB = Medium
Below = Low

I checked the blog and searched Durante, GedoSaTo, and ryse in various combinations. Not a single mention anywhere of him having anything to do with this game.

This is by desgin. The game automatically sets your texture resolution based on your video card memory. Best to leave it alone for this game.

Ignore that guy, he just posted that BS like everywhere in this forum.

That being said, it is SO annoying when games choose what is good for our systems without our consent. We're PC gamers, we know how to work our settings. If we want to play our game at 13fps but look really good, THAT'S OUR CHOICE.

actually most pc gamers are too stupid to know what settings to use. idiots would be choosing textures they could not run and then ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about the game stuttering.

So what? Then tell them to turn down the settings instead of ruining it for everyone. What is this, Highschool?

how the hell is it ruined? they set the damn textures based on vram which makes sense and eliminates potential issues for the average user. if someone wants to go into the config files and alter that then nothing is stopping them.

That's unneeded modding that is utterly unnecessary. I just had to deal with this BS in Blops III where they changed my completely fine setttings that ran with no problems, and limited me because they thought I didn't have enough VRAM. It's completely not needed. ESPECIALLY when the game runs fine with the settings turned up.

As trek554 said- that is why you can change it via the ini file. That way more casual gamers have the best setting and cannot mess it up accidentally, and more experienced users can change it if they want to experiment with it.

Then do something like what GTA did. Make it an advanced setting where you "limit the settings based on VRAM". If not, you have issues, like I just stated I had in Black ops 3, where it jumped down my settings when full settings before were absolutely no problem. It's up to the user to decide how they want their game to run. If they can't deal with it, then they need to learn.

and you cant get through your head that when a stupid user chooses a setting that he cant properly run that he will ♥♥♥♥♥ about the game running poorly and bad mouth it. the devs were simply doing what they thought was best by eliminating idiots complaining but having that setting where it can be changed by people that know what they are doing. really what you are complaining about is so stupid.

I don't like being limited in my games. If I wanted to mod every game I had I would. What's the point of getting a game on PC if I can't choose the damn settings? Why even put the settings in? Just put in a sidenote when you go into the settings saying "you're too stupid to decide your settings, so we locked them for you!". It's ruining the point of PC gaming. If I wanted to be restricted on my graphical settings, I'd go get the damned Console version of games.
