What Barbarians are we fighting in this?

I just started this and am very curious as to which faction of Barbarians we are fighting in Ryse. I believe they are Celts, but I'm not far enough into it to know if the game ever gives a real name to them.

I'm sure this game isn't historical at all but I did some research into Emperor Neros short reign but couldn't find anything specific due to not knowing when this game takes place either(assuming in the early to mid 60's AD).

The game is not historically correct, and "our" Nero is not really the historic Nero- we took inspiration from different eras to create our own, fictionalized Rome. And yes, the Barbarians in the game are Celts/ Britons.

I can recommend a brilliant book, "legions of rome" by Stephen Dando-Collins.

Its all there, every legion, every noted battle, posting, emblem along with all the correct tribal names in Britan.

Easy read, nice to reference the bits and pieces of loose history in Ryse also (14th etc) adds some depth.
