The save game/progress reset bug STILL EXISTS

I just lost all my progress, collectibles, skill tree etc. I closed the game and when i came back it was all gone for no reason.

The only thing i didn't lose was the chapter save which means i can continue the campaign from where i stopped.

But now i have to do the FINAL CHAPTER WITH NO UPGRADES ON HEALTH, FOCUS, DAMAGE OR ANYTHING ELSE WHICH MEANS I HAVE TO KEEP DYING AND RETRYING IT A THOUSAND TIMES BEFORE I CAN FINISH THE GAME.

You have got to be kidding me. Is it so hard to fix a simple cloud save synchronization problem? It's been years.

Do you think this issue can be avoided if you just turn off cloud saves from the get-go?

Based on some reports around the internet, apparently it can still happen even with cloud saves off. So i think the only way to really be sure you won't lose progress is to constantly backup the save folder, manually.

Anyway, i have managed to finish the game. I grinded xp by repeating the initial section of the last mission (where you can 1 shot a lot of enemies with the ballista) just enough so that i could buy some health and focus upgrades, that way i got through the mission a bit easier.

It just happened to me too, reset everything, including the chapter save.

Disable Steam Cloud Saves.

That doesn't solve it, according to some people. They said the save might still randomly reset even with that.

It solved for me and that was years ago, my save hasn't been reset since.

Steam Cloud causes more problems than not, and it has never worked properly across my PCs anyway (that why I use OneDrive, haven't lost progress in any game since).
