Stronghold Crusader: Definitive Edition

javelin throwers
after finishing both missions: I want to say I dont understand this new unit lol, completely wipes out your towers full of crossbows/archers, the throwing distance is almost the same as archer/xbow's shooting distance and they eat up shields too, they seem too op. if they had the same power but the same distance as slingers it might make more sense, and if the AI used them with shields together they might be more balanced, but in the hands of a human player they will be unstoppable i think, tried rushing with macemen in the skirmish mission, completely wiped out my maces, dont know how well they are against armor but they are fast as ♥♥♥♥ too, gonna have players get bum-rushed with em lol

In my campaign the the ai was just having them in their castle and every few seconds they threw spears at my ballistas making it where my balistas couldn't shoot back because they were out of range, but somehow the spear throwers could throw that far. The balistas were in the towers. I feel like both this and the new mounted heavy cavalry ended up being very very strong to the point where it feels way too overtuned.

I agree range should be like slingers. and make it where they are good against armored enemies so you can use those to take down heavy infantry before engaging.

I think to make the whole situation more realistic, the range of the javelin thrower should be at max 2/3 of slingers, but the damage 2 times that of archers roughly. High damage against badly armored units seems reasoneable, but the throws up towers......
So this is what Danaerys felt like when her dragon got sniped by a javelin-throwing Night King. Those units can exchange projectiles with Tower Ballistae. Why these javelin-throwers are this broken is a mystery when we got the Outlaw in Stronghold 2 and the average Spearman in Stronghold Crusader 2 having the same feature without being this broken.
Yeah they have atleast equal range as seated tower ranged units and their ability to kite arrows makes retaliation with their movement speed almost impossible. Archers have a very hard time hitting them. To the point whre I can image people bomb rushing javs in and out of range where nobody gets really hurt in MP

Oh yeah the Outlaws, they at least had smaller range and were weak to archers. A mob of them could clear out swordsmen fast by going in and out and throwing spears.
Regular Call of Duty, Battlefield or whatever player pulls out a sniper rifle to deliver a precise headshot from 2 miles away.
Regular Stronghold Crusader DE player pulls out a Sniper Spear and delivers a highly accurate headshot from 5 miles afar...
Spear Throwers be like:
