Get all codecs installed, they are not all selected on default.
When starting Overseer the ffdshow pop up will come, this could crash overseer.
I selected use ffdshow always (dont´show again).
Next time you start overseer the pop up will not come and the game won´t crash.

And this: (For RXS-3D Error)
In this fix there are 4 files, the RSX 3D Audio installer, two batch files for registering the DLL files, and a registry key.
one batch file and the reg key are for x64 windows.

I also have sound problems, but on Windows 7 64 Bit. It says "is used or Intel RSX not installed".

I have encountered problems in the game when clicking on the magnifying glass to look at things the decription text flashes by and disappears.

Its nice to look at to remember this in fondness but playability there are bugs.

I might try different resolutions since back then it was 640 x 480 and 800 x 600.

Beware: Downloading the ffdshow.exe installs the adware "vopackage.exe" on your system. This will spam your computer with advertisements. The fix in the ZIP file does not work on my system because the batch file says: @echo off
copy c:\windows\system32\aaudio.dll c:\windows\syswow64\
copy c:\windows\system32\rsx.dll c:\windows\syswow64\
... But there is no aaudio.dll or rsx.dll in my system32 directory after installing ffdshow.exe and running rxsetup.exe.

So the patch bat failed, but the sound works now. Mysterious, but it fixed it. Now i only have to remove vopackage.exe.

Any adware you might have infected your system with came form softonic website. They're known for making custom installers that incorporate malicious software. Stay away from such sites and always download programs directly from official websites of its creators. In case of ffdshow, which is a great piece of software by the way, that's:

i have disabled all the adware, you can just uncheck it when installing, but i replace the link with this new one

(just bought the game and it loads to the menu but when i start a new game it just gives me a black screen with the dialog optinos, when i click said optinos nothing happens, just a new black screen with different options... HELP?)

my download link had a downloader, where some useless software was installed if you choose express install. You could disable all the useless things that came with it. But i already changed the link up there, it´s the original source now

If you have a black screen but no sound error messages, you only need the ffdshow

One Problem Still to figure out, when clicking an item with the magnifying glass, the text flashes for a split second. Earie has sound and video now and the same problem with the text, me also, and some other person in another thread too
