I was about to jump for joy, but then I went to change my online name and still got the inappropriate text string error. Baby steps I guess.

We'll unfortunately have to test them out and see. They didn't fix the text string issue which I'm still upsetti spaghetti about.

update or not the game still fails to load after choosing the name so for the moment I admit that it's really bad

For some reason you need to set your PC's language to either English or Japanese. That might be the solution.
You open your taskbar and search for "language" and you'll reach Windows display language. Change it to English (United States)
If that doesn't work then it might be a different issue.
