I've asked Steam for a refund
Misleading customers through misinformation on the store page is inexcusable. We'll see what Steam Support says.

Usually steam is pretty good with this, and are quick to abide for stuff like this. I encourage everyone who bought the game and is disappointed for this reason to get a refund. Show trendy with the only thing they care about: Money.

And what 'misinformation' are you talking about

The game is/was tagged as being single player as well, but you have to play multiplayer, and on their servers. There is no single player of any kind. Not even private games.

The misinformation was the steam description said there was Single Player (there isn't) this was ALSO put in the official press release which you can find on the front page of this board.

I'll be asking for a refund also, had I known it was multiplayer only I would not have picked it up.

if they respond at all they will simply tell you to """" off.
Not true, i've had steam support help me with a number of refunds. One of them was actually this exact problem: a game mislabeled as multiplayer when it was local multiplayer only.
And they also fail to share the fact that this is a mobile port. Glad I checked forum before blindly buying it.

You seem to be confusing 'single player' with 'offline play'. They are not necessarily the same thing.

BO2 had the same thing. Zombies Solo was just you playing the game solo, but on their hosted servers.

Just like the Diablo3 pre-RMAH deprecation, you had to log into B.net to play 'single player'.

It's not really functionally different.

For the love of god it is not a 'mobile port'. Did you even play the original?

you got a refund?
theonerayman Jul 22, 2014 @ 12:55pm
Um no Satoru we are not confusing. Even if you are online you CANNOT play alone. The game forces your party to fill. That is NOT singleplayer. That is Multiplayer.
DohItAgain Jul 22, 2014 @ 12:55pm
It's rather largely functionally different. I can play single player when my computer is offline or in on my laptop traveling.

I can't play this.

But in this you have to play games on their servers. Cannot make private or (i believe) locked games. There is no single player, or even the semblance of single player.

You'd have to contact Support. the offical policy is No Refunds. Unless you can come up with a gigantic excuse for something it's hard to get a refund. The "SP is misleading" angle is likely not going to work out well given that this kind of SP model is used in a lot of games.
