But I agree with the amulets making the same things that barb spell he may seems useless. To be honest I havent tried it in DDE.
Barbarians are quite one-dimensional and, more often than not, can't compete with other classes because they simply have no defenses whatsoever at their disposal. Besides, they can only be at one place at a time, so the bigger the map; the more crystals there are to protect: the more obvious their shortcomings become.
They do excel at dispatching bosses.
If bosses were to appear in every map, Barbarians would
be a lot more valuable.
So instead of sitting around in a class that won't be building towers because someone else has better. You're playing a class that can be skilled out for some stupid DPS and tank because you didn't have to focus on putting points into towers.
The barb is a support role for the team as a whole and can do quick saves.
As for pet? hell what i just said doesnt work with a cat so i dont think it even matters, though if your pets damage is also boosted via elemental affinity then whatever of the two elements you are not using on your swords would be best, i havent tested that though.
