Eternity was a bad call Trendy
There is no way around this. You have hurt yourselves by releasing DDE. Its incomplete, buggy, and it splits the player base. Ultimately you have damaged your reputation and the cache of DunDef in general by putting out this "definitive" version that is frankly...just...not.

This should have been an update. Period. If you just *had* to do it. No amount of 'needing cash flow for DD2' was worth the backlash you are going to suffer from because you did this.

I have been a fan of Trendy Ent and own Dundef on just about every platform (except IOS blech) but after having been suckered into Eternity it may just be that long before you see me buy another Trendy game.

They clearly said this is just a test for DD2 if their servers can handle it and how the community think about some changes.

They just said the wrong things i guess.
They update it every week now and i hope they keep going.

The game has potential, but right now its a pile of dogshiit i agree.

I just lvl my characters and then i'm just waiting for something to change.

"They update it every week now and i hope they keep going."

they did this on dd1 when it first came out on pc but as soon as they sold the last dlc it stopped the game wasn't even 2 year old on pc

2 years of constant updates and having to make 2 other games in the backround is acceptable.

for such a tiny studio.

they broke the games balance with their dlcs and left many long term problems ignored

they knew about the ability to steal gear from the beginning even though they told many players on their forum it couldn't happen

they promised to make moonbase a dlc on ranked for dd1 and never did

they asked the community what they wanted patched /fixed /rebalanced in the "last call patch" for dd1 and after stringing them along for several months with the upcoming patch they patched nothing fixed nothing rebalanced nothing and made you have to rebuy the game if you wanted to see any of the changes

the game they did release plays like a beta shows that it wasn't fully tested or even greatly though out destroying the worth of several heroes and is incomplete

this is not acceptable for any company

I dont know about you, but i dont give a ♥♥♥♥ when a game is 75% of and cost me 5 bucks, seriously if you dont like it then dont play it.

it has nothing to do with the game or money its a quesion of the company's ethics if the best you can do is say "but its cheap" that says allot about it

The fact that the support stopped for DD1 after the last DLC is nothing new to the game market, and it happens on most console titles and PC titles that don't keep paying the bills. Look at ANY codemasters game forum on PC and you'll see what I mean, they seem to stop support once their game hits shelves. Trendy at least gives us patches and listen to the community to add in things we want. +1 for private sessions!

The only issue I have is with lag, probably because there are no relay servers placed in Europe and everything gets tracked back to source D:

This just in, according to steam current players numbers, Dungeon Defenders Eternity has surpassed Dungeon Defenders current players. Guess people are still buying it and playing it. Kind of like Call of Duty / Madden remakes every year. If people buy it, and it supports your business, why stop?

Ya it's only $5, I mean it says somewhere I'm sure, that this isnt even a real game it's just to mess around for DD2, right? You know they are trying really really hard, it's not like the game is missing major features, has any bugs, or made any playable classes totally irrelevant.

Remember it's just $5, it's practically free, did you expect this to be something well thought out? It's not like they had a base game to work from with lots of content already in place that was worked on over multiple years.

But honestly for $5 I would have bought it even if all it was an infinite loading screen that said "Dungeon Defenders" and you never actually got to the tavern. Lower your standards guys seriously it was only $5.
Shazoo Aug 9, 2014 @ 10:43am
it hasn't been $5 since the 5th I believe. It's $10.99 now.

if a man is fool enough to pay me for a job half done I would be a fool for not taking his money

What are you talking about, they received a huge cash investment from a private investor, like 20mil, a couple of years ago and now the company has division for mobile games, Nom Nom.

Stop the presses, the player base of a recently released game surpassed that of an old and unsupported game.
