Game won't install

When I try to install it a window comes up saying "Performing first time setup...

Installing: PackageForTheWeb Stub (step 1 of 2)"


and it just stays there and never progresses. Please help. Maybe the webserver that is supposed to upload the content is permanently down? I dunno

It's been like this since before Halloween. (going on 3 weeks now)

I have zero problems with installing other games. I have over a hundred in my library that w ork perfectly fine so it's not my firewall blocking it or anything.

Having the same issues here with the Win7 64 bit o/s, tried verifying all the files are there as well as uninstall/reinstall.

well i find that when have the windows saying is istalling the package, right clicking on check cache ,let the set up windoes pop up, than u can start the game...and is indeed a good game..sadly it wont let me change arrows key to wasd..so i 'm using a controller..good game anyway.

Jusr run the exe on the steam app file

Does anyone know what that program is that tries to install itself when installing the game? Little blue screen comes up while Steam is doing first time setup and tries to install something, some sort of Audio/Video thing. I just closed it out and the game installed ok.

It is ok to install the program it is Intel A/V codecs v2.0.
I found a fix for the game to fully install just start it thru Steam and as it tries to finish installing run the file RunCurse and the Intel A/V codecs v2.0 will pop up.
It will give you a different options window with the 16 bit color display modes gone from the list.

Glovepie can easily change wasd to arrows ,i use it all the time.

Actually, there is no need to install these package. (Solution : When you start this game, you will receive a permission of steam to install packagefor the web stub, just reject it, then you can play now.)
