Why do I get a black screen when I enter the game?

I have a black screen issue since I started playing the game. I'm not sure what the problem is. Can anyone tell me? Thank you.

you have to verify the integrity foulder of the game,them you can see the mising archive and try to intall again

most people also recommend: uninstall and reinstall, but many times, that doesn't always fix the problem... even after running the verify integrity scan

i love you. this worked for me and for days i couldn't figure out how to fix it. Anyone wondering what o changed it from and to, it was set to fast, i switched it to ON and it actually gets past the black screen. Now to figure out the audio issue on steam deck.

Try installing yourself a codec pack, but not from microsoft store, those file extensions for video/audio/image just uninstall, those cause stutter problems when looking around in folders, or by clicking on affected files that match that codec.
