Can't progress past chapter 4

No matter which route I choose I can't get enough hearts to progress and I also can't 100% any chapters no matter what I try.

You'll have to go back and try to get all the right choices in romancing the girls. All the right choices accumulate into a prerequisite to unlocking the next chapter. It's annoying to go back so much and do it over and over again, but whatever. Hope this helps

i had to go back to chapter 1 and fix a few things try all options and aim to get heart in every single choice pick. also each chapter has a dif girl as cover thats who you should focus on. ch 4 is seung yi
ch 3 eun bi and then ming ming
ch 2 gran mostly but eat dinner with ming ming

is the gameplay really to always go back and grind locked scenes?

ok this one helped me get past chapter 4.
focus on the cover girl and get uphearts for her as much as possible.

but now im in a weird limbo of chap 2&4 being 98%

I finally managed to do that got to end of chapter 5 and am having an even harder time. I had to go back to the beginning to get past 4.

Alright, so you have to chose all the right options through the story the first time. After you do that. You can go back and just do it how you want trying to get who you want.

yeah, it's a weird game. you can't go with whoever you like. you have to play for maximum points. in some cases you have to select very specific answers (chapter 4 is super sensitive to that).
only after you have finished the game you can go back to change stuff so it does what you actually want.

also the later chapters are fairly lame and boring. the demo content was way better.

In chapter 2 you can get more total hearts if you go for the chicken route.
Dunno how it's possible to miss anything in the game considering you can see literally what you've seen or not, unless you don't remember what choices gave or take away hearts.
Though yeah it's a harder choice when you have to choose from two different branches netting a different total.
