You find that throughout many game clients today. Another example you can find in the dead space series of origin. Similar differences are pointed out there. The player has to understand this, as given with reason.
In case you cannot find your title after all, you can alternatively search the steam db. With google, you can receive a webpage adress for your search on that db. It contains also pre-release versions of certain games and all dates on their expected (official) releases. If you don't find it there, it is definitely not on steam. (Steam DB: https://steamdb.info/)
