Is there a list of supported resolutions? I tried changing it to a couple of higher resolutions than the default 1024x768, and it crashes.

Determine the maximum resolution of your monitor. Then, launch the game in DX-10 mode.
Options > Video > Resolution . Or you can change resolution from there: "Documents\call of juarez\out\Settings\Video.scr" Rename it to txt and back up to scr after changing.

All available resolutions for DX-10 mode: 800x600, 1024x768, 1152x864, 1280x720, 1280x768, 1280x960, 1280x1024, 1360x768, 1366x768, 1600x900, 1600x1024, 1680x1050, 1768x992, 1920x1080. It's a bit different from the DX-9.

I hope I don't have to remind about DirectX drivers.

I finally managed to run it in higher resolution. The key is to *NOT* make the configuration file read only. After I changed back the attribute to not read only (and set the resolution in the file manually to 1600x1024), the options were unlocked for some reason, so I was able to select 1900x1080 from the in-game Options>Video menu and save that setting.

I use DSR factors on my video card ( need an nvidia, possibly 20 series only? ) and run the game in 4K, I haven't found it to be an FPS hog and it also allows the option of saving FPS by using less AA settings ( which do have a significant impact on FPS ) because you'll have less jagged edges when running in a higher resolution. So I run games in 4K DSR and only use very basic AA settings and it looks great.
