I can't seem to catch a lingcod or alligator gar
I have the max pole and every lure, I've used plenty off crawfish but still no luck, anyone know the best fishing spots for the max size of fish?

Yea I'm playing after the new update right now and I have a few suggestions: PLEASE make the day cycle to where it becomes day again, and it is WAY too dark, I got lost in Dakota for like 15 minutes. Also, please make it to where predators have health bars and bring back infinite range. However, if you do not want to bring back infinite gun range, please make it to where there is a semi-transparent line that surrounds you when you are aiming, or a red dot when you are aiming somewhere your gun can't reach, and a green dot when you are aiming at something within range. And this Ling-cod is still taking absolutely forever to catch, I'm still stuck on the same Ling-cod achievement even after finishing all the new material. I really like the new Dakota map and the land owner you have to fight, but the darkness is horrible, and with now obvious paths leading from the ice lake back to the cabin and the path leading to the car, it was insufferable running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Also, if you can, please make the radar sound track from further, or an adjustable setting/upgrade to where you can track animals from further away, or better yet an actual lidar scanner to be able to pinpoint the exact location on the map of predators. Thirdly, to up the playtime of your game, it would be amazing if you made an especially expensive lure that is like 50% catch rate for large fish (maybe it can cost $10k). Lastly, just please don't forget about the game; with enough time and updates, this game could really be the new thing.
Wow! Thanks for all the input! I will work on changes to compensate for some of your complaints!

I caught the alligator gar after going to the shop owner and simply refreshing the mission by putting it in his box and the taking it again, but I've been trying to get this lingcod for hours and still no luck..
Restarted my game, re-accepted the mission, I've tried it all, this lingcod either takes an obscene amount of casts or is literally impossible to land.. it's been 11 hours and I've finished everything else
Also, just because I complained about this one thing doesn't discredit how much I love the game in any way. I haven't spent time like this on a game in ages... it's so fun I am still trying to 100% it even when I don't think it's possible

Ok, I have finally just caught the ling cod. It seems there's nothing else to do after that seeing the shop owner has no more missions, but I look forward to the next update. Oh yeah, a couple more things; changing the the locations of bug swarms by a randomized timer between a minute and 5 minutes would be a nice addition. You could even add super hot spots with fireflies or something. Also, a few more bear routes that are randomized every time you spawn in would keep things fresh but I honestly don't mind their tracking, I just really miss infinite gun range. And lastly, expanding the world borders so you can walk around the entirety of the back lake in Alaska, and reach the other side in Dakota would be sublime. Please consider and great job on the game... but that night cycle has to change lol, thank you for the update though
Just checked Florida out after the new update and I gotta say, I'm glad the gator health is lower now, but why in the world was there fish fish over 80 lb drag that I couldn't even catch with the max fishing rod? No need to add stuff to the game that isn't fleshed out yet, we can wait for a finished update we won't disappear.
