I agree with this.
While i really like SR3/4 Shaundi as a character, she's basically a angrier female version of Gat. The pairing Gat/Kinzie is a lot more awkward since the 2 have nothing in common and that makes it funny. Those two singing musicals together? It's hilarious.
Kinzie on the other hand, as other people said, is really appreciated by the fans, and they needed a character for Coop. Saint's Row is maybe the "fairest" game regarding the male/female ratio, both in main and secondary characters, and also villains, so they put the most liked female. I just think it's too bad that they did put Gat and Kinzie with simple clothes, as there is no customization they could have gone crazy and stay with the "hell" theme and give them some badass hellish costumes.
I dont think people are weird for liking the characters. the characters have personalities their well developed not just vomited into the game like in that tomb raider reboot with personalities paper thin, this is the row, and their personalities have to match the epic awesomeness of our beloved Saints.
