Game crashes on first cutscene, any fixes?

Basically what happens is after i go through the new game process there's a loading screen, but then only the audio plays from the opening cutscene whilst the screen is black, and if i try to skip it the game crashes to the desktop. Afterwards i tried again but this time waited through the sound-only cutscene to see if that was the only issue but after it finished, the game just CTD anyway.

I've done everything i can think of, ran both steam and gat out of hell as an admin, verified my GooH game cache (it turned out there was one missing file, but after that was installed it did not fix the problem), i've even uninstalled and reinstalled the game just to check if that was the issue but that did not fix it. I also verified my SR4 game cache too, then opened it to check if my boss had any of the dlc items/hairstyles equipped since i know that has been a problem for a lot of people, but i had no dlc items on my boss, so i am really not sure what is going wrong.

I know a lot of people were having problems similar to this but i have seen no working fix for this issue specifically. If anyone has any solutions/possible fixes i would be happy to hear them! :)

yeah i have a similar prob the game was updated today and now it wont even start it just minimizes and says its running but it just keeps minimizing and wont let me play since the update idk wtf is going on ima try a few things but any help or ideas are much appreciated

Have no troubles at all. Recently installed it on my notebook, removed all the "logo" videos to hasten loading and playing without any bug.

I only got one crash throughout the entire game. I think at least 10 vehicles and everything in the blast radius detonating can do that. (The Gallows Dodger is astoundingly potent!)

I don't know either, but that's what's happening and the patch must not have fixed this issue, just others like it.

I'm having the exact same problem. The game is unplayable for me, hope there's a fix soon, otherwise this is a rather disappointing waste of $20
