Half the fun is playing the game as 'you' or what you want to be. Maybe jsut something cool or sexy who knows. Rough Handsome secret agent man or sexy street gang slash piret with puprle hair and a hooker skirt.
I personally dont like Gat. Kensie is ok but I dont want to play her either.

I was hoping for that too. But this is a very budget release so cuts needed to be made. This is a stopgap release while Volition works on something they haven't revealed yet I figure.
Or they could've simply made it so that you are playing as Boss again. They would've involved much less headache considering that they hardly need to change any resources on character appearance.
Anyhow, I believe this terrible idea of not letting players play as Boss is going to bite this DLC in the ass.
I supose one could ask if there will even be another SR game. I mean 'TheBoss' is emperor of the galexy and in this game Satan gets killed I presume so... unless there gonna make saints row even less cohesive theres nowhere to go with this gang.
I mean I can think of places but the devs mindset is pritty clear. Its a game of one upping and when you jump from ruling a city to godmoddding you pritty much box yourself in.
...and nobody likes a ground floor reboot.
I personally think they should try doing an alien world. Say that Zinyaks tech was able to make them immortal and due to flooting in space for years they got bored and rusty. So they decide to take a planet the old fashion way. Or maybe theres some interdimensional threat and as the new galactic Emperor you the sexy aliens throughout space need you to stop this thread. Yes... sexy aliens. StarTrek got away with it so can we(See saints in space DLC from SR3).

I worry that the writers will go to far with the next game and it jsut wont be SR or they will undershoot and itl be boring.
PS: enough freakin challenges as main story stuff. Build a game not a never ending mini-game. Driving in a car with a tiger was boring.
People have been saying that ever since Saints Row 3. They said they'll surprise us and I think there are many ways they could further the game. They could even rebuild the earth with the alien technology they have now. Plus they have time travel I think.
Saints Row doesn't take itself seriously. Thus the possibilities are endless.
..and I dont care what people said about SR3-4. I liked both and some parts I didnt. I never expected one to be bad. I didnt think they would run out of ideas. Infect at the end of SR4 they set themselves up with tiem travel... then literally boxed that out by jumping to when the saints had finished having fun with time.
Yes they can backtrack but they keep ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ themsleves in terms of what they can do.
Perfect prep work met with horrible boxing choices.
Presidant: earth destroid. -_-
Space: Conquered in one game. -_-
Supernatural: Jump to Satan himself and have Gat shoot him in the face.
They keep blowing past everything they could explore... its a pattern and its boxing them in. Thats the problem.
Because the boss was the only character I enjoyed. Both Kenzie and Gat are forgettable, and they're the best (read: most bearable) of the cast. At least as far as I'm concerned.
Also, why wouldn't you be able to change their appearance?
Or is the series about to have some rules again? I thought they were gone when aliens stuck you in a matrix while you were the president of the United States.
