Can't Start New Solo Campaign

I start up the game fine, go to campaign, select normal difficulty, and then I get "The save file could not be loaded because the file has been corrupted or is an invalid save file"

How can there be a corrupted save file when there isn't a save file at all? I'm trying to create one.

The only thing I can tell you that this was suppose to be a DLC from saint row's 4 and it'll have the saint row's 4 character in it. I'm not sure any other reason why you would get that. I say google it or something cause its been a while since this game been out and I'm not sure if they support it anymore.

Yep I heard that, I purposefully reinstalled SR4 and played through a fresh campaign, no mods installed either. So I've no idea why this would be popping up.

I just had the same issue. No idea what is going on aside its probably something on Deep Silver's end.

This is an old issue and I'm surprised no one knows about it.
The gat out of hell game is a standalone expansion. BUT, it looks at your last Saints Row 4 save file, and imports the Boss appearance for use in the cutscenes throughout Gat Out Of Hell.
THE PROBLEM IS: In one of the last patches they moved the save file data for SR4 and they forgot to update Gat Out Of Hell to look for the save file in the new location. And for some reason rather than include the Generic Boss Appearance, Gat Out Of Hell just crashes outright.
The irony? If you never had SR4 installed on your system, then Gat Out Of Hell plays without issue. It just uses a generic Boss appearance.
I think if you uninstall SR4 AND go and manually delete all the SR4 files in the stream directory and your My Games directory it MIGHT work. But the last time i tried it, Gat Out Of Hell still had the error.
