[Fixed] Cannot start new game

This save file could not be loaded because the file has been corrupted or is an invalid save file

Hi!
The problem is caused by Saints Row IV save import.

Solution:
Disable Steam Cloud. (Settings>Cloud)
Open and close SR IV.
Close Steam.
Remove LOCAL SAVE FILES of SR IV from your Steam Folder (Located at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[your user id]\206420
Start Steam in offline mode.
Run Saints Row GoH.
Start a new game.
SAVE once in control. You won't have more problems as long as you choose "Continue".
Restore your LOCAL SAVE FILES of SR IV (Open garbage and just hit restore)

Hey i appreaciate your post and for trying to help me but i've read similar help posts to yours like disable steam clould etc, but none of them helped.

so what i did was download the radio mod from the site saintsrowmods for gooh and disable the saints row iv character by going to RadioEnabler.ini and making load_sriv_character = to false. that did the trick so nobody needs to delete stuff or do all those steps.

it's just an easy way to fix things.

I´ve the same problem. Yesterday I buy this game and I´ve no saves in gooh. I cant start a champain and that trick doesn´t work

tried the radio mod but it keeps crashing even though the load sriv_character is set to false. It'll crash and reload the game.

this error kept coming up in the log

ah, did that and now it finally works. I also found a save editor that can allow the sr4 Boss to be loaded into a GOOH save.

What if you don't have SRIV installed?
