First off, just want to double check that all the entry's in the journal are actually full. That is what the achievement is based off of.
If you do, then thats incredibly strange. Were you possibly playing offline when you found the last creature? That shouldn't make a difference, but again, just in case.
The only real solution would be to restart your save and re-discover them. Not ideal, but it's the only real way to re-trigger the achievement.
Hopefully that helps...
But nevermind, I'm gonna restart my save and hope it'll work this time.
Thanks for your answer, your game is great !
First off, I love this game. I hope you do more games like it. It's so relaxing and beautiful. Maybe make one with puzzle solving like having to move things about, unlock things, work out switching mechanism or put specific object you find in certain holes to open things, or translate pictographs with a book you find etc.
As for the bug report, I'm also having an issue with an achievements not updating. All the achievements have worked fine for me except the one where you have to find all the city story secrects and the one where you have to find all the boat upgrades. I have had the game tell me I've found 60 of 60 city story componentes and all the panels are full when you read the city story but I found the last one while I was running Steam off=line and it doesn't seem to want to update and give mee the Steam achievement even when I load the game again with Steam in on-line mode, Is there a fix for this?
I've still got one boat upgrade to find though so I'll have to keep looking for that. :)
Also, I''m not sure if this is connected or not but after finding the last city story secret with Steam in off-line mode I carried on exploring to try and find the last boat upgrade and ended up getting the following error message that crashed the game. I was playing about with the graphics setting a lot too, seeing the dfference in effect between higher and lower levels of detail, so that may have had something to with it too.
Fatal error!
UnknownModule!UnknownFunction (0x0000000000000000) + 0 bytes [UnknownFile:0]
As far as achievements, though, all of mine popped properly.
Just a quick followup question about the crash: What OS are you both playing on? (Windows 10/7 home/pro/ultimate etc, etc)
I'm just curious if this bug is popping up due to Win 10.
I was also wondering what sort of Graphics card, CPU, and amount of memory your PC's have.
I'd like to be able to kill this crash bug if possible.
Cheers guys
Windows 7 x64 Enterprise (for some reason); AMD Phenom II X4 975 processor with 8GB memory; two 1TB hard drives with Steam on the first, Submerged on the second; nVidia GTX750Ti with 2GB GDDR5 on board, running 1920x1080 (single display, native resolution). Windows is, as far as I know; fully patched; nVidia driver version 372.90.
Edit: I have found a couple of .dmp files, if that would help...
That would be awesome if you could upload them somewhere, if they're not too massive.
That would help a lot. :)
They're about 230K each. I believe that the times were when it crashed on me; I can re-crash to confirm, of course. <grin>
If you have trouble retrieving those, let me know and I'll try to get Dropbox to open them up a bit more...
My OS and other system specs are:
OS Name Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium
Version 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601
System Manufacturer TOSHIBA
System Model SATELLITE L875-116
System Type x64-based PC
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3210M CPU @ 2.50GHz, 2501 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 8.00 GB
Graphics Card AMD Radeon HD 7600M
Hope this info helps.
FYI, I've just decided to play through it again making sure I'm logged into Steam every time. I've finally cleared the boat upgrade achievement. I'll let you know if I manage to get the City Story achievement this time around.
FYI, I've only had the crash happen that one time so far. I am back in the proper game mode rathe than explore mode at the moment though which could have something to do with it but I did spend quite a bit of time in explore mode trying to find the last boat upgrade.
FYI, I've just had another occurance of the
"Fatal error!
UnknownModule!UnknownFunction (0x0000000000000000) + 0 bytes [UnknownFile:0]"
This time is was while in normal game mode rather than exploration mode. I'd just collected the treasure the get Taku the thread you need to stitch up his wound. It placed the small version of the thread and needle icon in the supply collection progress bar then it crash to desk top with the error Fatal Error message before it had a chance to load the cut seen. In case it makes any difference, I collected this treasure from Cantref Steel.
On loading the game again after the crash, I started back at the shrine with Taku and was given the message to seach for something to stop Taku's infection so it bypassed the cust seen and story book segment for the infection cure all together.
I've completed the city story again but this time while having Steam in on-line mode the whole time and got the Steam achievement for doing so this time, so it seems the achievement not triggering last time was definately linked to Steam being in off-line mode when I met the condtionds.
I've got all the achievements now, yay! Hope to see a sequel or DLC.
I still haven't managed to get the crash myself here, so when I get some free time I'll have to try building a test machine and trying it on that.
Chazz if you're still about, are you also playing on a laptop? If so I may need to start tracking down a bunch of laptops to try the game on.
Also on offline achievements: After having a google around, it seems like steam doesn't store achivements while offline: (One source) https://www.reddit.com/r/Steam/comments/37ancy/achievements_wont_unlock_when_offline_wha/crl65si/
It seems it's up to the developer to store them and request they get unlocked when the game is next played online, so it can be different for every game.
I implemented the achievements to be handled like XBox Live/Playstation Online where you unlock it once and XBox Live/Playstation Online stores it and syncs it for me. So it makes sense that they don't unlock. (But it's not ideal behaviour and I'll probably need to fix it.)
