City Of Brass

FIFY:"First-Person Arabian Nights .. for Non-Arab"
Isn't it weird when you read this phrase and then you find out that the game supports 12 languages not including Arabic?

I don't demand or complain, but hopefully the devs will take this into consideration.

Hi Abadi10x,

You make a valid point!

We had some major difficulties getting Arabic characters and words to be displayed properly so it wasnt broken looking in our last game, (which we did translate to Arabic, but we had a lot of feedback from players that it was unreadable because of the way Unreal Engine aligned characters and words?)

So we decided not to do a 'bad' translation for City of Brass into Arabic unless we could spend the time to get it right.

Always something we will consider looking into in the future if the demand is there, we just added Japanese in the latest 1.2 Patch (this week)

Understandable.

This is a common issue with the Arabic language in many games, where the characters appear in reverse because the game engine does not support right-to-left typing

Honestly, I prefer not to translate it to Arabic if the characters didn't appear correctly, because it will not be understandable.

Thank you for your response and good luck.

I'm not sure what has changed since releasing the game, but we've managed to translate some texts and get them displayed in-game without any issues.

Here's an example.[cdn.discordapp.com]

Our translation team would gladly help you localise the game to Arabic if you are still interested. It definitely deserves to be translated given its Arabian theme.

Unreal itself has done a lot of work itself in supporting Arabic characters better which will be what you are seeing there, which is great news that it is working fine.

Thank you for letting us know. At this stage we have no plans to do any updates to city of brass unfortunately.
