How are weapon variation?
Watched some gameplay videos and there doesn't seem to be much in terms of variety at all.

Am I watching crap videos or is this true?

Hi Milenia,

The game is Melee based, and the Whip is our tool for interacting with 'everything' so you always have a Whip and a Sword. There are currently 47 different items in the game, swords, whips, armours and relics.

If I were to judge I'd say:

If it hadn't been a roguelike the variety is alright. But seeing it's a roguelike it's on the far end of the limited side.

There isn't much variety, and what is there technically works the same.

Say, there's a club, a torch, a khopesh, a cleaving sword, a rapier, the standard sword, and some other stuff.

There's a heavy whip, a fire whip, a "longer" whip, etc.

They all have same animations and movesets, the only things different about them are their stats and, in a few cases, attack speed and / or additional bonuses. Club is the slowest, and rapier is the fastest. Torch can burn people and also acts as a light source. Majority of weapons have more or less same speed from what I've seen though.

There isn't a skill tree, and perks can be bought from genies.

You don't choose any items / perks at the start. Sometimes after you rank up you get an item or a buff that will be applied when you start your next game, but only for that run.

There are a few modifiers that can be unlocked however. The ones that make game easier are unlocked from the start, and ones that make it harder require you to pass a milestone (die X times to traps, kill X enemies, etc).
