DOOM: The Dark Ages

rtx 3060 12 gb
do you think going down to 1080p will give me steady 60 fps. i have doom eternal in 4k ultra settings but thats about the only game which let me have 60 fps at those settings. even a game like far cry 5 from 2018 wont give me steady 60 on 2k. only on 1080p.

"Decent settings" is very questionable since official system requirements state 1080p/60 on Low for this level of GPU. Those 12GB of VRAM however can potentially allow you to raise the resolution through DLSS alongside higher res textures to back it up while still staying at the same FPS.

60fps probably, not at full ultra, extreme preset I think, worst case scenario you will add DLSS and you will be good man

gygabyta windforce OC 16 gb. to be honest i actually had alot of doubts and thought at one point just moving to playstation forever because the prices of graphics cards are insane. then i realized i also want to play strategy game and i dont like playing fps with controller so i decided to invest. but i also had to replace my monitor because it had 60 hz limit to a 4k 144hz monitor and i also needed a 1000 watt power supply and a new 4 tb nvme which i dident even knew was a thing up to recently. i already tired of deleting games over and over so i needed the extra storage anyway. before that i actually thought of buying a 10,000 dollar pc but then i gave up on that idea

I had 4k 144hz oled for quite some time but 4070Ti was not pulling enough fps for me in some games so I decided to upgrade gpu and new 1000w psu with 3.1 atx format with new dedicated cable just in case, now games are breeze on 4k so old gpu now for sale and I think I'll sell also my 1080p 500hz monitor.

If nvidia will pull same trick with paper launch and crap prices for 6xxxx series in 2 years or so for me 5080 will be last upgrade. Quietly counting on amd to release something strong which could compete with 5090 but I'm not sure will happen.
