Cringe Pricing - Get on Gamepass
£70/$80 for a game??? lmaooo. What are they smoking over at Bethesda?? A digital Deluxe edition for that price I can get by, but BASE GAME?? I love a good linear singleplayer game, but come on. I wouldn't even pay that much for RDR2 or CP2077 (if it launched with 2.0 + PL).
Instant Gamepass download. ♥♥♥♥ Bethesda.

Yeah no modding, no multiplayer, campaign that's gonna take me like 10-12 days at the very most, sounds like a 1 month Game Pass sub to me

It's strange that as a benchmark for a flawless game that you're willing to pay the maximum price for, you mention the terrible Cyberpunk. I couldn't even get through it for free, let alone consider buying that garbage.
But okay. There's no arguing about tastes.

Regarding the topic - the price is steep, I agree, but there's nothing we can do about it. Welcome to the new reality of $80 games.
Just wait until GTA 6 comes out. It's scary to imagine what price they'll slap on that, but it's good that I'm not interested in it.
Sure, this is a great idea if you intend to just play the campaign and call it a day. But for me, unless I hate the gameplay. I will be doing UN + DLC's + master levels later hopefully. So I am guaranteed 100h at least at which point the pricing is fine. So yea, do what feels right for you, but there is no blanket answer here for everyone.

The original Doom was $40 at release, which is $80.46 today. Well, the original had multiplayer, though.

CoD 4 had cost $76 on PC and $91 on consoles if you adjust for inflation.

Red Dead Redemption 1 was about $86 if one adjusts for inflation and RDR2 about $80.

The original Half Life was $94 on PC.

Wolfenstein 3D was $112 (!!!) in todays money ... and that without any multiplayer or modding tools.

PacMan for the Atari VCS (2600) would be $115.
