Excuse me OP; a bit personal but; may i ask... how come you don't have <Insert latest tech-name in the industry>? in <current year> ?

Some people are so out of date, yet they want to play the newest games. i know a person who has hardware from december 2024...

december 2024 hardware!!! in jan 2025!

because it litterly makes almost ZERO difference and this was tested by tech guys over and over again.

the current only difference would be if a game would support Direct storage so loading times are actualy faster with an NVME wich is still rarley used by pc games.

then get an SSD..this game will either not work or break your drive
Weren't the hardware requirements for Indiana Jones a lot higher as well even though it wasn't actually needed?

When requirements were listed people were partially "shocked" in the comments.
Haven't played it yet but sounded like it ran well nonetheless.

Yes, it is official: Doom the Dark Ages must have an NVME SSD in order to run. Corsair has an article on their website about it. For those who do not know, Corsair is one of the most reliable companies when it comes to making high quality custom PC parts for custom builders. The game has maps that are twice as large as those in Doom: Eternal. Plus, they are throwing hundreds of demons at you at a time. SSDs cannot keep up with the data demands. However, Corsair did mention that they sell an NVME SSD for older systems. On the bright side, it has been confirmed that Ninja Gaiden 4 and Turok: Origins can run on standard HDDs.
Waiting for the day when people claim that its a fundamental human right to have affordable hardware perform excellent. The talking already sounds like it

It's a sad statement of fact as ppl are saying across the FF 7 forum. It would have been great if FF 7 the Rebirth didn't have pop-ins and stutterings at all, but that's not the case is it? Not like having nvme SSD is a waste of money anyway

its not money wasted, but it is a sheep marketing trick.

Fake problem (Oh you need RTX to see the shiney reflective surfaces, ITS A REQUIREMENT) ,
solution (real or fake), We just happened to have the FIX for you.

Question : Mind showing me why i can't play without RTX?

example 2 : fake problem (You need NVME to handle all that data transfer, it increased over the years with newer games), We just happened to have a FIX for you.

Question : Mind showing me the data transfer rate and how data streaming is being handled?

example 3 : (See above), you need a brand new CPU that supports AVX2, because yes; vertex transformation and other stuff do need dot products calculations (SSE2) and matrices multiplication , a lot of them, we just happened to have a fix for you.

Question : mind showing me HOW MUCH usage does SSE2 / AVX2 gets?

With most games being closed-source without profiling tools (Not to be confused with benchmarks); this is equal to a magician telling you "I have a cool trick , DO NOT LOOK, CLOSE YOUR EYES AND TRUST ME; IT WILL BE WORTH IT".
It is interesting how everyone is ignoring you despite the facts you are stating. It is just like how they pushed and pushed graphics to be a selling point more and more. (and it worked sadly) but why? Why not do more performance or such with the hardware instead of more shiny and worse or same performance? simple: money. Follow the shiny it will only cost another 700 dollars, more if you are lucky.
Luckily I really dont care about this game but stumbled onto this forum post and that is all.
I hope this game works on my Samsung 860 pro 4TB SATA SSD
I bought 2 NAND SSDS years ago, I bought another 1 TB M.2 because I was low on storage. Lucky for me it was a NVME SSD. Guess I’ll be installing doom on that one
The collusion between 3D hardware companies and game devs has been a thing since the first time id was good, this is a known thing. The difference now is that you won't be seeing a computer the size of a couple of your fingers and the price of a hamburger with "frites" running this at a playable framerate in 10 years.

yeah you are. It's 2025 and NVME is a standard now. Deal with it or buy a new MOBO. Literally every MOBO has NVME nowadays.
well since you genuinely believe money grows on trees, go ahead and buy me this new MOBO then.

OR, hear me out here, buy an NVME PCIE card and stick the NVME in that instead...
