Chill people.
DO NOT upgrade anything yet, until you try launching the game and seeing if it actually doesn't run AT ALL.
There's a very high probability that the CPU requirement might not be accurate - I find it very hard to believe that if Zen 2 can run the game it will only be limited to 8 core CPUs because that would mean that 6 core CPUs like the RYZEN 5 5600 or RYZEN 5 7600 would not be able to run it too.
I mean the RYZEN 5 7600 was released in 2023 like it's barely 2 years old.
The one thing i could maybe recommend is if you were able to run INDIANA JONES then there is a very high chance DOOM will run - that game was using the same engine as DOOM and also had forced RT just like DOOM.
I would assume perhaps the builds for the id Tech engine are similar since the games are releasing within 6 months of each other so that COULD in theory give us an idea of what to expect from DOOM.
Yes, you need a hardware RT capable card to run this game. So anything older than nVidia RTX 2000 series or AMD RX 6000 series simply won't run the game.
What did ido? I thought very serioursly to get a 9700x or 9800xd with 32 gb 6400mhz and x870 motherboard. But i decided no because since i already have a a8oce cpu ryzen 7 1700 iti s not worht it in 2025 to get again another 8 core. Which is why i have two choices. Either get 9900x which is 12 cores or wait for next gen ryzen 11000 and get 11700x because amd said that next gen ryzen will have more than 8 cores even for cheaper models. but if the cpu , ram, motherboard or psu burn/die before the release of ryzen 11000 then i will be forced to get 9000. Ihave the cpu ram and motherboard since March 2017 and psu since fall of 2016 which means htat there is a high possibility that one of the 3 might die before the release of next gen ryzen. If that happens then i will get 9700x. Also what is this that you say that with the next motherboard we will need to reactivate windows? When i 2017 i changged motherboard i typed the key from the windows 10 cd and it accepted it. Should ido the same with the next motherboard? If ihave install Windows 11 until then, will it accept the key?
Objectively false.
