Pricing is not about covering costs anyway. They price their games for as much as they think they can get from us. And obviously they think Doom is big enough of a name to ask for more than other games.
But what I have a problem with is to simply ask for more money than all other games. 60€ would be totally fine. 70€ would be acceptable. 80€ seems like an insult. :/
Dont fall for this trap!
Only idiots pre-order.
Wait for discount or torrent.
That's probably the main reasoning behind the pricing anyway, nudging people onto game pass. It's bad for the studios , but good for Micro$oft.
PC players have it anyway pretty good when it comes to pricing.
If you are willing to wait a few months after release, you can get most games for under $30.
Imagine being a Sony Pony or Xbot and realizing that there are literally zero good first party games, justifying buying those outdated consoles. Like the State of Play today was ruff. Sony literally gambled everything on live service, then canceled almost every live service game, because nobody wants it and now they have no games to bridge that gap for the next 5 years or so.
Imagine forcing Bluepoint to make a God of War live service game instead of a Bloodborne remake. Years wasted. 😅
if it'd had multiplayer, i "might" have bought it at full price, but SP only, nah.
obviously not, im UK, this game is £70 , which is £20 more than any other AAA game, they want to ask that much, then they shouldn't be to surprised, if many ppl hold off on it.
According to statistics most AAA title have the £70 price tag since 2023.
