glory kills are basically the melee/shield kills...
I see thanks.
Flashy lights, slow-mo stabs, and the same 3 animations on loop to make sure even 12-year-olds felt like pros.
And the best part? It wasn’t even iD’s idea. They ripped it straight out of Brutal Doom, watered it down, and slapped neon colors on it.
If The Dark Ages ditches that kiddie nonsense, we might actually get Doom back—not Doom: Glow Stick Edition. But lets see. They might have only slightly turned it down.
Well, we already know the neon glowy bits are still present based on the gameplay videos that have been released. Neon ammo and health pickups, plus neon melee indicators on enemies. I personally hope at least some of these can be toned down or turned off in the options. If not, I have no doubt some mods will come out to better fit a "dark ages" aesthetic.
It's not a deal-breaker for me, but I know a lot of people don't like the neon clashing with the rest of the game aesthetic. More like Doom: Neon Ages, right?
