You've no idea what you're talking about. You should look up exactly what "anti-consumer" means.
Id make an offer. I take that offer and get what I paid for or trust that I will, based on a strong history. There is nothing anti-consumer about this scenario. You are motivated to call it what it isn't because it fits whatever narrative you're pushing for whatever reason.
your comparison isn't even close to applicable
Who cares if they do? It's still your choice to engage with the practice or not. Rail against it all you like, but you can only speak for yourself, as others are as free as you to do what they want with their money. Past stating your personal opinion you get into the area of making your opinion some kind of moral/ethical standard which others should follow, which is clearly absurd.
You should look into some basic principles of economics. If I offer to pre-sell my pending belly button lint for $1000 and people pay me for it months in advance, is anyone doing anything wrong? If I offer different sizes of the lint ball? Different compositions based on what I wear? Exclusive lint balls for days I wear a tux?
There's no penalty. You just don't get more than you were willing to pay for earlier than anyone else. Again, economics. A fair exchange based on what you feel a product or transaction is worth. They aren't selling you half of the game at any price and even if they were, you can choose not to buy it.
Anyway, you can't rationalize your way into being right. At least not publicly...feel free to delude yourself privately.
The penalty is that many people are going to have to work hard at overcoming the temptation to pay extra to play at launch. You are basically forced into buying a bundle to play at launch. No different than a store doing a bundle on a new GPU or console.
You don't pay extra to play early, you pay extra for the extra content (including a DLC), if you happen to buy it early you also get to play early. It's not like the price is going to change for the content if you wait (and then you don't get the extra time)
