Anyone experiencing a bug where they can't block with their shield?

I've been experiencing this bug quite often. Specifically chapter 9, but it happens usually once per map. Its messing up my Ultra Nightmare runs by quite a lot. Sometimes throwing your shield fixes it, but not always.

this is a known bug after the last update
i just throw shield and return it back with right mouse button

Yeah sometimes the shield throw fixes it but sometimes it completely doesn't

idk for me throwing a shield always helps fix it
some people say using melee also fix it

I got this bug once. I managed to fix it by reloading the level and swapping weapons
