Latest NVIDIA drivers crash/perf
Hey everyone,

I have a 4080rtx ryzen3700x and i've had issues with crashes for this game since the latest nvidia drivers. Same for cyberpunk 2077: it crashed after 2-3-5 mins of game.

I found out that its connected to nvidia drivers, so I installed older drivers version 576.28 AFTER uninstalling my drivers with DDU (display driver uninstaller - if you dont it doesnt work, games still crash).

if you have geforce app it might autoupdate so be careful.

Anyway, cyberpunk and doom dark ages crashes are gone but not only that, the performance in doom DA is so much better, the game runs smoother than when i played it with latest drivers. constant 120 fps everywhere 2500x1400p everything high/max.

If you don't have any issues post your cpu/gpu/drivers vers thank you

I think the latest Nvidia driver introduced this issue, that's when the freezing started.

All the 2025 drivers since the 50 series released are funky with the 30 and 40 series.
driver 576.40 works great for me.

You can install older drivers if they help you run the game. Look for the version the other guy mentione on the NVidia website.

If it helps, driver 576.40 works great for me on an RTX 4080 Super.

Always save your last few drivers in case a newer one doesn't work.

I have 5070 Ti and Ryzen 5800X3D and I don't have any crashes, no problems at all. I had Radeon 9070XT previously and I had more problems with it than with "terrible, bugged, overpriced" nvidia. Also, there is a massive input lag on latest AMD cards compared to nvidia.
I am leaving comment here, because I am interested about where is the problem for the future if I had some problem, I bought 5070 Ti like week ago and I am using only the latest drivers and no issues at all, no black screens, everything works fine. Only little problem is that integer scaling sometimes behaves weird, but on AMD, it's even less reliable and it also causes another input lag, so it's still point for nvidia. I am playing a lot of older games and I have 4K screen, some old games may not support 16:9 or HUD is too tiny in 4K, so I want to set 1080 or 720p + integer scaling to make it looking like a native resolution, that's why I just need nvidia.

Yup, that's what I use with my 4080Super, no crashes at all and great performance across the board.

Sure, watch this.
https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-components/gpu-drivers/game-developers-urge-nvidia-rtx-30-and-40-series-owners-rollback-to-december-2024-driver-after-recent-rtx-50-centric-release-issues
Roll back to 556.36.

Itll throw a "Newer drivers are required" warning but you can play the game just fine on older drivers

Beat TDA on gamepass
Just pasting this in every freeze-related thread. I was experiencing freezes on Nvidia driver 576.52 with an RTX 5070 Ti and Ryzen 9 3900X. No freezes since downgrading to driver 572.70.

Interesting how 5 years ago investment in RTX 3080 TI outperforms just about all other things out there today , still . I did not crush and use 576.52 and played on 4 K
( it feels like a rip off even today )
I also had PC build worthy of the graphics card.
Maybe i made my payments always on time is why i have no issues
