It's a bit good, isn't it? I like to run the game with just DLAA on UN without mfg it's perfectly acceptable frames already, but if you crave 3 or 400fps, perhaps more that magic "more fps now please" button is badass.

More games need to get with the times and support it. This is how our cards last an extra generation or 2, as well. Anything that can reduce upgrade costs is welcome

say what you will bro i was the same way. ill never play games any other way now. smooth motion with elden ring i get 120 , feels wayyy better than 60 an some how feels better with smooth motion on than native, halo i can get a lock 313 fps cant tell the difference , the first berserk 340 plus fps, this tech is crazy an has come a long way an now i can get crazy fps gains without having to upgrade my cpu. an when i say u legit cant tell the difference in latency or a smeary image, legit its that good, clair expedition could only get like maybe 100 plus depending on the area, now i get 200 plus. lies of p got beautiful fps natively an got 240 pretty much all the time, now i get 400 . the credit is due here bec i can see with my own two eyes how good it is. ill legit never need another hardware upgrade like for 10 plus years with this tech. im happy with it.

Real gamers use a 5090 on a 60hz 1080p display and supersample at 8k for best AA right?

Frame interpolation enhances smoothness, so if your base FPS is decent and your input latency is decent, then enabling FrameGen is only going to make the game look more fluid.

Most of you throwing "LOLZORZ MUH FAKE FRAMES" comments don't even know what you are talking about.

its just a smoothing technique. The moment people stop calling it more fps the better. Its plain interpolation, zero new info, zero new input and zero changes. It just takes A and B frame and insert generated frames with all the benefits and flaws of that.
The latency is not that bad if you have a high base fps so that is not what I would worry about. However if you are prone to notice graphical errors then framegen will give you them in abundance and even worse if you also upscale.
So its a decent tech that has its uses but its being pushed like its some sort of performance or really big game changer which it isnt.

I feel like that more or less applies to ppl with very lower tier cards
Especially for fsr 3 an lossless

I’m quite sensitive to upscaling and framegen artifacts (one of the reasons I’ve got used to not using them) and I’d say most people won’t notice anything except some edges in a lot of games with current nv leading edge.

I think it applies more to UE 5 games or not...

Without Framgen UE 5 is garbage for me..the stuttering is too much in all of them. Hell Expedition 33 feels like crap compared to oblivion with framegen on, even if I match the frames with DLSS...

UE 5 is actually a great engine with Framgen and almost unplayable without

Doom TDA doesnt need Framgen at all...a 90+ ultra native with a smooth FT graph experience is unchanged by framegen for me
