The challenging goal of Doom games however was always to finish the game on hardest difficulty. And then if that was done you set up your own challenges. Like....remember when Doom games have given you the freedome to do pistol only runs?
I see you can only imagine PvP as a replayability. But that is not even close to all what games can offer.
I dunno, I think the gameplay mechanics in DA doesn't lend itself as well to super-difficult maps this time around.
Many games and previous DOOM games have a design where monsters "behind" will not actively attack the player (this feature already exists in "Devil May Cry"), because the player cannot see them. In "DOOM: The Dark Ages", monsters from all directions will attack the player, so the player's attack range changes from any position to a relatively safe corner...
