I just realized that..
Doom (2016) is a reboot of Doom (1993).

Doom Eternal introduced Pain Elemental & Arachnotron, which first appeared in Doom II.

Cacodemon design in The Dark Ages looks extremely similar to Doom III.

So, is it safe to say that the whole modern trilogy is a reboot of the OG trilogy?

Kinda, except this still isn't like Doom 3.

Doom 2016 is a remake of Doom 1993. Doom Eternal is a remake of Doom 2. There are some similarities, but I don't think Doom TDA was intended to be a remake of Doom 3
Right, DooM 2016 is a reboot that feels much like "DooM 1993, but it's 2016" and DooM Eternal is basically "DooM II, but it's 2020".

DooM 3 was also a reboot, which is why the "3" is there only for marketing purposes (DooM 64 is much more a "DooM 3").

Yes it was a soft reboot where it was sorta retelling the events of the old games but still presented as a sequel.
