Hotkeys for every weapon on PC !!
pls give every weapon his own hotkey its to slow to switch to shotgun and than supershotgun if my last use was shotgun!

patch this in future thanks !

hotkeys have genders now ? Damn the world really did seem to lose it after Trump took office for a second time
Its an extension of said weapon so this will never happen

there is a keybind to switch the weapon extension in the settings, don't understand how you think changing from the SS to the reg shotgun with one button press is slow, unless you're opening the weapon wheel ever time you want to switch
They should make an input buffer for it. E.g. if I´m on Plasma, and I hit 1 for shotgun twice in succession it should just swap to the SSG instead of combat or the inverse of whatever you left it at

At least it will swap back to the last used weapon variant of you press the corresponding key. Something for a start.

If you are using your keyboard which I'm sure you are, just use your numbers on your keyboard. #1 is shotgun.

That's the point of OP.
That if you had used the shotgun last time and want to quickly swap to super shotgun, you need to press 2 buttons. There is no dedicated button for the alternative weapon variant.
But as i wrote, at least they think on it that if you press 1, you will swap back to the last used variant of the shotgun category. If you press 2, you will swap back to the last used variant of the autogun (or what is it called) category. Either to the AR or the sniper rifle.
And so on

Just like Eternals' annoying Unmaker & BFG being the same key. Defeats the purpose of PC gaming. This is the end result when game designers only grew up on console controllers.

Its just more proof that the game was designed around controllers, and really my only complaint about this game. It just seems wrong that one of the first and most popular M+K games ever created is now being designed around a controller because money. Actually there was no mouse at first. When I first played doom I played with only the keyboard...hecka oldschool.

I would blame Bethesda for forcing the issue, but then I see Hugo playing DOOM on a controller and it just makes me sad.

It's about as annoying as hitting the swap weapon mod button in 2016 and Eternal.
weapon wheel slows down the game speed when you are in your adrenalin rush and RIP and Tear Demons. and its only a controller feature not a PC..... Keyboard have more keys not only 6 for weapons

They probably consolidated the weapon keybinds on PC cause they thought of it as an issue of sorts. It got tedious having to reach for 7 or 8 to switch to the chaingun or bfg in the middle of combat (unless you had them on closer keys) I can see why they made the decision but I also understand why its problematic for people
Needs to happen ASAP
For an 87 key TKL keyboard, there's no reason whatsoever having 2 weapons programmed/binded onto a single key.

For console controllers its totally understandable with its limited I/O keys compared.
Controller: PS5 KEYS: 2 joysticks, D pad , touch pad & about 8 buttons not 100% bind-able.

Never ever used the gimmicky weapon wheel once during TDA (or even on D2016 & Eternal+TAG1/2 Nightmare completions) with a mouse/keyboard PC setup.
