That if you had used the shotgun last time and want to quickly swap to super shotgun, you need to press 2 buttons. There is no dedicated button for the alternative weapon variant.
But as i wrote, at least they think on it that if you press 1, you will swap back to the last used variant of the shotgun category. If you press 2, you will swap back to the last used variant of the autogun (or what is it called) category. Either to the AR or the sniper rifle.
And so on
I would blame Bethesda for forcing the issue, but then I see Hugo playing DOOM on a controller and it just makes me sad.
For console controllers its totally understandable with its limited I/O keys compared.
Controller: PS5 KEYS: 2 joysticks, D pad , touch pad & about 8 buttons not 100% bind-able.
Never ever used the gimmicky weapon wheel once during TDA (or even on D2016 & Eternal+TAG1/2 Nightmare completions) with a mouse/keyboard PC setup.
In Eternal at least it was fast... in Dark Ages it takes... ages
