This game is highly rated by both critics and the vast majority of players. But if you open this discussion tab or god forbid watch some asmongold video it's going to sound like this game is the worst thing to come out this year.

The game is good, get over it. If you don't like it you can always try another game or going out of your basement for once.

EDIT: yes guys, i also don't think this game is as good as the previous 2, and steam rating would agree, but that was not the point here. a game with ten thousand reviews 86% being positive is not a rating a bad or even a mid game would get. the game is GOOD.

I'm enjoying the game but it is significantly bare bones compared to 2016 and eternal, Definitely the weaker game of the 3. My advice it to buy it on a sale or something as my biggest issue is that its just not worth the asking price for what we got. For me the game runs fine and its fun with an enjoyable story, but as a whole its just lacking.

The point of the basement insult format is that it's someone else's basement, i.e. the person inhabiting the basement is a wastrel forced to accept substandard living conditions due to some fault of their own, not that they're just sitting in their own basement because that's where criticism of DOOM: the Dark Ages is done

this...noone is telling that this game is crap but it is not a masterpiece either....I find this very poor and bland

Well said OP. Game shreds. I came here to check patch notes and all I see is pissing and moaning.

Eternal had the goofiest dumbest lore and humor and the same baboons that are crying about TDA ate that ♥♥♥♥ up. And that game STILL ruled.

We should enjoy what we have. Doom 2016 is still there if you want to go play it again. Hell, I did just that recently.

Is that saying a lot? Doom 2016 was the standout game of the year, and Doom Eternal was, if not as good, then at least red hot.

Personally I find the tone and the retrenchment from Eternal's goofy (read: abysmally awful) attempts at humor really refreshing, and the gameplay is still extremely good.
