Now that we got that out of the way. The aesthetic of absolutely everything beaming a colorful ethereal light, all over the screen, at all times, always, everywhere over top of this dark, gray, hell world is repulsive. The obsession games have with making everything have some beaming RGB aura blows. Especially in a game like this, which I'm expecting a far different visual aesthetic than neon rainbow chaos.

I just don't get it, why was it a good idea to visually assault the player like this? It looks terrible. This shouldn't be the doom look...and did I see this dude flying on a dragon? Is this DOOM? Everything has to be accompanied by some flat emissive neon effect just all over the screen?

It looks crap, enemies holding force field shields and stuff. Its just not the right aesthetic for DOOM, it should be a game where you have normal fire blasting guns, not energy weapons, viscerally deconstructing the demonic forces of hell. Why does it feel like I'm in some xbox 360 games magic future world with glowing orbs and glowing symbols and oh look a glowing obelisk it needs a glowing ball to open up the glowing circular platform that floats with a glowing magic field?

No no no no, this game should be shotgunning demons apart, fire and mars space stations, not look like DoomGuy wandered onto the game "Too Human"

Just guessing here, but probably because Doom? I mean, the originals had big red and pink(ie) demons, glowing fireballs, colourful terminals and key cards and orbs and all sorts of stuff like that. Personally, I find the game a little too dark, drab and brown, and I miss the aesthetic of Eternal.
