Doom TDA: A reluctant recommendation
I have fully completed the game on Nightmare with default difficulty sliders. and i can finally say with full certainty:

worst of the modern reboot trilogy, not a bad game.

the story is bad and takes itself fully seriously unlike the last 2 games, the game's plot can be summed up in like 2 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sentences

"The Doom Slayer breaks free from the Khan's mind control. the Slayer saves a commander with HP Lovecraft powers and kill a demon lord"

done. that's literally all that effectively happens in the game.

the difficulty ramping was pretty bad, the first 2/3rds of the game are a total cakewalk then its literally just fighting like 3 armored mancubi, two arachnatrons, a cyber demon, and 4 shadow imps that drain your HP for not noticing a slightly darker grey in this dark ass game, on top of like 50 soldiers to spam at you just so you take some damage as you're running around.

the second skull crusher gun was really fun, I mostly used it, both shotguns, and both railgun weapons. the combat relies too much on parrying IMO, its not good enough of a gimmick to carry the game though.

i'd give it like a 7/10, above average, but could have been great

also the last boss fight(s) suck, on Nightmare he basically two taps you until you get his pattern, and the second you do its easy

7/10 for a $80 is pretty lousy.
I would give it a 5 / 10 since it is half of its predecessors.
I dislike Theia so much.

I wished this story stopped sucking you off. everyone stops the story to talk about how cool you are. it was cool in that SINGLE MISSIONS audio logs in Eternal, this game is ridiculous at how much it treats you like the gamer god of mankind that all must worship

I like the character model, but not much else
WHAT!

I goto the store page and I see 10/10 95/100 5/5 4.8/5
All A+s

and you saying 5/10 or worst game you seen?

These ratings are better than the other Doom's ratings.

According to the ratings this is literally the best Doom in the series, the other Doom's did not get rated this well by Hardcore Gamer, Game Tyrant, Newsweek, Destructoid, Game Rant.

Might want to rethink what you think of this game, it doesn't match what professional game raters rate this game.

I really like warrior shotty and shield doomguy. I like the parry system. The dlc needs to be packed with content though.... there's a lot in the previous games not here. Hell, most of the skins are locked behind crazy out of left field things.... like a pizza place in new york? wtf? I wouldn't recommend the game if money's tight.

PSA: Reminder that Bethesda pays bots also some of those gaming outlets still get triggered by the mention of #GG. I trust none of them and neither should you.

She is Marcus Fenix in a dress.
Correction: She is Kate Diaz from Gears of War, who is Marcus Fenix in a dress.

they're baiting for jesters lol
It does have mech combat making it worth it, the dragon combat needs a rework. Going 3rd person is a huge mistake which is why the controls for it are too weird.

I feel the Mech combat is too basic and does not feel any different from regular Doomguy.
There this old game I have been playing called Necrodome.
I played that game when I was 6 which was around the time Martin Luther promulgated his 49 theses. It was developed by Raven way before they were absorbed by Activision and condemned to serve in the Call of Duty mines for eternity.

It does on foot combat and vehicle combat and it feels awesome.

Compared to this, the Mech in Dark Ages feels like whatever.
The game was rescued by GOG who is owned by CDPJR from the Witcher fame so you can play it for a nickel there.
Killzone did mechs a couple of times and Id could learn from that.

Mercenaries 5 is pretty cool if you want to play a recent release.

And of course Armored Core 6.
