I did, but just cheesed the difficulty with the sliders for the skin. I am going to replay the game on the actual difficulty once I can beat nightmare without handicaps.

Will the achievements not be effected if you mess with the sliders?

Yea, a few streamers already have.

Nope, anyone can get UN now! ;-) But IMO I don't know why someone would if their plan is to do it on standard UN as well, will cheapen the reward.

Over halfway through pandemonium before I try ultra-nightmare, but already disappointed to learn that you can just cheese it via adjusting the difficulty and personally I found another exploit, which is really stupid, but apparently if you die and get the screen to confirm, you can simply alt f4 and your extra life won't subtract. My guess is this'll work in ultra-nightmare too.

You could alt+f4 scum in 2016 and Eternal as well so it's really up to you whether you do it or not.

I heard about this in Eternal but I never tried. I think I will try extra life after nightmare. So far this game seems very brutal with how many enemies it throws at you.

game have to many broken ways to kill stuff.
even without slider abuse richoshet avtomat can carry you throw every single situation with insane force.

and for a heavy targets you can just abuse Ball gun by parry every atack of strong mob and shooting fully charge ball into them

the fact ppl cheezing this diff with sliders is just insane.
i will understand if someone do this on Eternal since you rly need to know how to play and be fast with all what you doing.

in dark ages you legit just need to use 3 weapons(3 one is a supershotgun but i asume that players who need sliders to beat this diff prefer to stay far frome the target)
A couple of my favourite DOOM speed runners have already completed 100% ultra nightmare in sub 8 hours, including cut-scenes:

Draqu: https://youtu.be/t4UA0QVPBMs?si=93FE3f0CG38BDumL
Zeromaster: https://youtu.be/1UAmTYy52qE?si=zNlCjkG2w0ZDYe2x

I'm nowhere near as good as either of those guys; hell, I never completed ultra nightmare in 2016 or Eternal, and not for lack of trying. I think I got about 3/4 of the way through 2016 UN on my best run and my best in Eternal was Mars Base IIRC.

It was more like I didn't want to rage at my computer, so when I go to do the real run, I don't feel there is anything on the line if I fail. As I grow older, almost 40 now, I have just got to the point of I will play the game in the way I choose to enjoy it.

Being robbed of the experience is a thing yes, but being robbed of future rage that could potentially cost me more than I would like, that I would prefer. Everyone is different, everyone plays different. Play how you like I say, you can always go back and try again.

Those with anger issues like myself however, it isn't worth having that much anger towards a digital piece of content that at any point I can alt+F4 and walk away from.

Oh somehow I doubt having the skin will stop the rage when you die on like level 18 on UN. ;-) This is a long game, UN deaths will be rage inducing regardless. I did UN in Eternal, but I am still on the fence if I will do it here. Probably will thought because I like to be tortured I guess.

I can agree there 100 percent. It does lessen the rage for me though. At this point, it will be me versus the game, not I need to do this for (insert reason here).

I'm gonna play it on Easy. Enraging all the sweaty tryhard geeks is just a bonus :P

Right
This way is the best way.
Think of it like ultra nightmare is lvl 10 spiciness. but the food starts to not be as enjoyable because its over spiced, its competition type spice rather than enjoyable level.

Anyways thats the way to do it, enjoy the game, thing is for me at least as gamer with decades of experience, always got to play the hardest difficultly just because gamer I am.

Doesn't mean I enjoy it though, because hardest difficulty means you play cheesing the game the entire game. Cheesing the game isn't really enjoyable, have to cheese it because difficulty is just so high that you have to cheese it since you don't its like you get 1 shot or so on.
They didn't design game with that in mind, but they made modes like that, and when you play a new game, always hardest, and if hardcore is an option always hardcore.

My take is if a game has to reduce your health, that means they got lazy on making it actually tougher as in the NPCs or enemies or whatever are smarter, reduce health means they still the same but you are weaker its nasty way to make games harder enjoyable type harder.

The enjoyable tougher difficulties is when the monsters are a lot better and I have my normal health I take normal damage, its just he monsters are better, monsters are more challenging. Rarely see enjoyable tougher difficulties in games these days.

When Carmack and Romero did Quake1, nightmare meant the enemies actually have good aim rather than bad aim. My health same, my damage taken same, its just monsters are a lot better.

I played remake nightmare, monsters same as other difficults, but I have less health and so on. Which is LAZY difficulty increase.
Hence lazy way to make games difficult, rather than Romero and Carmack, ENJOYABLE tougher difficulties where the content is tougher
